Christmas Test Tubes

EDIT: If you want some of the test tubes shipped to you...they are .75 each + shipping - while supplies last! Check with me first so that I can make sure they are still available. Just email me at: kaitysmom@fuse.net

Hi There!
So sorry that it has been so long since I posted! My last craft show at Cooper High School went so well, I SOLD OUT of so many things! I have been working really hard this last week or so to replenish everything...especially with Thanksgiving coming up, I know that I will have a limited amount of time to get everything done this time!

Anyhoo.....since I have been re-making a lot of things, I thought I would so you something that I have been working on today! These are Test Tubes, just like the ones I made for Halloween HERE, but I decided not to make the little "holder box thingy" for these. These would be great for co-workers, teachers or stocking stuffers!

I got the test tubes from a little candy outlet here locally....LOVE that place! Also got the candy that is inside there as well. They are called "Sixlets" - just think little bitty Whoppers! And the colors are fabulous!

Hi There!
Probably my last post this week as I am getting ready for a big (i hope) craft fair on Saturday. If you are in the Northern Kentucky area, stop by and visit me!

Cooper High School PTSO
Arts and Craft Show
2855 Longbranch Road
Union, KY 41091

Anyhoo....finishing these cute little clothespins today and finally found a way to display them! This was a suggestion from a crafter on SCS. GENIUS I tell you! And all for less than $10.00. Used a metal cookie sheet from Walmart ($4.50) and a book stand from Michael's ($4.00 with 50% coupon).

The magnets I used are from this site on ebay and are SUPER strong. I had to change my adhesive to that "stinky" E-6000 stuff because the magnets were pulling off the clothespin!

Puppy and Kitty Treats - More Craft Show Items

Hi there!

Quick post before I head off to watch TV for the evening....It's Housewives of Atlanta and Orange County Night!

Anyhoo.....we can't forget our "fur babies" this holiday, so I made a few treats for their stockings! OK...admit it....you put up a stocking for your dog/cat! You are not alone!!! We have 3 stocking - (2) dogs and (1) cat - used to have a hamster too....but that is a whole different blog post! :)

The dog and cat die cuts were made with my Cricut....I really need to dig that out more often. Made these so simple and easy. Made about 40 in just a couple hours!

Peppermint Patties

Hi there!
I'm in full on craft show mode right now...next show is on the 14th and I have a ton of new ideas to work on!

These are York Peppermint Patties! I found them at Target...but sad to say that I don't think they have them packaged in the foil covers anymore. I think that they are now packaged in little individual plastic bags....so more more peppermint patties after this batch!

Anyway, these are super easy! I had a bunch of left-over chocolate covered pretzel rod bags from Halloween and saw a post on SCS from Cindy and Maria at Crafty Creations that used them for the Peppermint Patty wheels - PERFECT FIT! And they are packaged so different too - that I hope they are great sellers! Would make cute stocking stuffers, teacher/co-worker or neighbor gifts.

Jr. Legal Pad Covers - File Folder

Hi there!
Been working on replenishment of the items that I sold from my last show and a couple new things that I am pretty excited about!

These are Jr. Legal Pads that I found at Walmart (6 for $2.50 ish) and file folders that I bought at Staples. (12 for $8.00) You can also find some single folders at Michael's and Walmart, but I liked the colors on the ones from Staples better.

Got the tutorial for these HERE. They are super easy! Once you make a couple, you can whip one out in about 15 minutes! Will add some beaded pens with them....but haven't decided how I will attach them to the folder or pad yet. If you are curious about the beaded pens, try HERE for the tutorial. I use the Mini Micro Beads and O' So Sticky Paperback Tape from Penny Wise Arts HERE.

If you have any questions, email me: kaitysmom@fuse.net

Recovering (still!) from yesterdays Open House/Craft Fair! I have some pictures in an album at SCS in my gallery: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga....php?cat=18377 Sorry I didn't get a lot of pictures....got too busy towards the end and forgot!

This was a Demo type vendor Open House, so no other paper crafters were there.....I was a co-host so did not put out too much stuff (kind of a dry run for me). My friend/co-host is a Longaberger consultant, so she let me borrow a bunch of her baskets for display. I only had an 8' table due to lack of space. BUT - finally added it up this morning and did a little over $200.00 in sales! I knew that I was busy, but didn't realize that I had done so well - much better than expected!!! Unfortunately...I have nothing to show for it after buying a bee-u-ti-ful Coach purse and many other things! My hubby need not know about that!

My best sellers were:
~ Desktop Calendars - $3.00
~ Covered Notepads - $3.00
~ Various Halloween Candy - $1.00(trying to get rid of it so I can move on to Christmas)
~ Altered Clothespins went like crazy - $1.00 - who knew?? Need to find a better way to display them though.
~ Covered Tic Tacs (Halloween & Breast Cancer) - $2.00
~ Stamped Candles (pumpkins sold out) - $2.00, $5.00 and $6.00
~ Post It Notes - $4.00
~ Teacher Notecard Sets - 6.00
~ Snowman Punch Card Sets - $10.00
~ Gift Card Holders - $2.00 - sold a lot of these...even the birthday ones

Now, I need to get busy on the rest of my Christmas stuff since I have 4 more shows coming up! I did have quite a few people ask for special orders for classroom treats and teacher gifts, so will see if they actually work out. Guess I will clean my house in January - right?

If you have any questions on any of the pix - let me know!
One suggestion that I have for everyone that might be in multiple shows - Get a flyer or postcard that lists all of the shows that you are in and pass them out to everyone! I even included a little coupon on the bottom of mine that they can use on their next purchase. I let you know how many of them come back to me...if you want to see my postcard, just email me: kaitysmom@fuse.net

Take Care all!
Hope everyone with sales did well this weekend!

SAVE THE TA-TAS!

Hi there!
Wanted to get another quick post up before I have to go get my mammogram! Making these Tic Tac's for the ladies in the doctor's office....they are wonderful even if they do like to "SQUISH" me. My mom is a breast cancer survivor - GO MOM! - it has been 7 years since her last treatment! So, I make a point of getting in for my test yearly.....

SAVE THE TA-TAS!

These are the BIG tic tacs...found them at Target. The cover is 4.5 x 3 and you score at 1 7/8 on each end. Just cut a punch in the front (1 1/4) and decorate! I made all of the wording on my puter. Any other questions, let me know!

Christmas Nugget Tins

Hi there!
Just a quick post today before my friends come over to "play" in my craft room!

Making quiet a few of these for craft fairs this season....always a good seller. I buy my tins HERE. They are a little pricey on shipping so buy a lot or go into it with some others to keep costs down. I normally sell these for $5.00 each with no problems.....

I'll post a few more once I get them assembled.

Snowman Paint Cans

Hi there -
I totally cased these from Andrea Walford HERE. (Scroll down a bit.) Thought they would be great for gift giving this year. May make them for the craft fairs if I can find the acrylic paint cans fairly cheap again. In the past I bought them from Oriental Trading Co. and they are pretty reasonable. Set of 6 cans for $10.00 + shipping. But they are out of stock a lot. So, if you want some...better get them while you can!

HO HO HO! I know....a tad early!

Hi There - Quick post tonight...want to watch Real Housewives of Atlanta tonight! I know...I know...but it's like a car wreck! You gotta stop and look! My DD says they are a "Hot Mess!" :)

Anyhoo - Working on some items for the Shoebox Swap on the 3rd. Needed some cute bags to place some "special" prizes in and decided I would make my own instead of buying. It's hard to see on the picture, but all of the paper is "glittery" - is that a word? Looks really cute in real life.....might try to make a few for the craft shows too. Might make a nice set to have the bag with a matching card....hmmmmm (that is me thinking)

These are Santa Hershey Bars.....quick little treat to put in any stocking! And duh...can you say Chocolate???!!! They were big sellers at the craft fairs last year too...everyone is always looking for unique items for stocking stuffers! Sold them for $2.00....will probably sell for the same this year. You could also personalize them on the white band at the bottom!

SCORED BIG (not what you're thinking either!)

Hi there....
Just wanted to post a new awesome deal! Was browsing Kerry's Blog (HERE) and she had a post of places that she goes for some of her supplies. BTW - Kerry has an awesome blog...spend a few minutes there! Anyhoo....one of the items on her list was red sticky tape. I use so much of it for my 3D and altered projects, that I thought I would check it out.

This is what I got for $7.50 (on left) and this is what I normally pay $2.99 for! (right) SCORE!

That is 36 big, beautiful yards of love baby! Ends up being .26/yard (that includes shipping) compared to .60/yard! Even when I get the other tape on sale, this is still a better deal! I can't tell the difference in the quality yet, but will let you know if I see any changes in the product once my projects "settle".

Here is the place to go! Confessions of A Ribbon Addict. Jody has a great blog too, so plan to spend some time looking around! Shipping was super quick too....ordered on Friday and received it today/Monday!

Have a great night!

Stamped Candles

Hi There! TGIF! Whew! What a Loooooooonnnnnng week!

Anyhoo...thought that I would post some candles that I have been playing around with this week. I have seen these all over SCS times, but thought they were more complicated than they actually are! Look HERE for more ideas on SCS.

My favorites are the candles I made that that look like poinsettia's (did I spell that right?). Totally cased it from HERE on SCS. Also love the idea of putting your child's hand-print and signature on the candle for Grandparents. My mom would LUV it!

If you wanna make some of your own....here is the LINK to the turtorial on SCS. So easy and great gifts. I added the stickles and jewel brads after I was done heating them. I also packaged them in a plastic treat bag with assorted ribbon and a little matching gift tag, in case they will be used for gifts. Gonna see how they do at my first of four Craft Fairs this year...may have to make more! (cross your fingers!)

Candle sizes:
Scroll and tall poinsettia - 3" x4"
Snowman with Birds - 2" x 2"
Poinsettia and Snowman - 3" x 3"

Magnetic Calendars

Hi there -
You know how you always get those "crummy" little magnetic calendars from the bank or your credit card company that are really kind of lame? I found that these are a great replacement....and they did well last year at the craft fairs. Great to give to a co-worker, in a basket for the neighbors or in a stocking. These are pretty much like the desktop calendars except for the magnet on the back instead of the binder clip.

Check this POST for more information on the calendars and coasters.

I will be packaging them this year, since they got a little beat up last year with all of the handling. Thought I could either hang them on the wire shelving in my booth or place them in a basket. Not sure of the layout for the booth yet...seems to change every time I do one!
