Mini Clipboards For a Great Cause

Hi There!
Finally getting back into the swing of posting!

A Blog Friend of Mine - Coley - asked if I would create a little goodie for some very special ladies that she works with at   BirthMom Buds, which is a not for profit organization that provides support to birthmothers (women who placed children for adoption) and pregnant women considering adoption. Each year on the weekend before Mother's Day they have a big retreat in Charlotte, NC for birthmothers and they needed items to fill goodie bags for these ladies! COUNT ME IN!

Anyhoo...this is what I cam up with for the lovely ladies...hope they enjoy their retreat and a little "spoiling" as well! These are Mini Clipboards made out of blank coasters with an altered binder clip and a matching "Pebble Magnet" for the frig! So cute but so easy - and useful as well! These are a great way to get rid of all those DSP scraps that you have laying around your craft room! These are always a big seller for me at my craft shows. Check out all the details for these below....

Details:
Blank 3.5x3.5 Coasters - Blockhead Crafts
DSP - scraps I had laying around the room
ModPodge used to attached DSP to coaster
Medium Binder Clips - Staples
Glass Pebbles - Hobby Lobby (flower dept)
Stamps - Papertret Ink
1/2" magnet - Sun and Moon Crafts - Etsy

I'm Baaaaaaack!

Hi There!
Sorry I have been gone so long....life has been hectic! Kaity and I have both been busy with club volleyball and then fighting a bunch of creepy crud around this part of the country a couple times this winter too!

A friend of mine is hosting a benefit for a little boy who was diagnosed with a form of cancer recently and asked if I had a donation that I could send in.  Well....I bought this paper from Jellybean Soup and had to PLAY!!!  So cute! I decided to make a gift basket filled with all kinds of handmade items...also some gardening items as well.

Enjoy, and I will be back with more later this week!

More Candy Stix!

UPDATE: I have gotten a lot of questions on what I sell these for at my craft shows so wanted to get an update for you all!   I normally sell these for $1.50 each or 4 for $5.00
Let me know if you have any additional questions!  Thanks! Beth

Hi There!
Different design but still fall themed....also a couple Halloween designs as well. My daughter is now in 6th grade said it would be uncool to take treats in for her classes, so I haven't been working on many Halloween treats - which are my favorite! :(     I think that these will be included in my "Boo" packages for neighbors this year.

Fall Crafts Show - M&M Stix

UPDATE: I have gotten a lot of questions on what I sell these for at my craft shows so wanted to get an update for you all!   I normally sell these for $1.50 each or 4 for $5.00
Let me know if you have any additional questions!  Thanks! Beth

Hi There!
I decided to join a local craft show on Nov. 6th so thought I had better get a few fall items on my table too!

I am a huge fan of sunflowers...guess you could figure that one out? But haven't been able to find a good die cut that I thought would work for me. Anyhoo....was organizing my Cricut cartridges and dug out an "oldie but a goodie".....Walking In My Garden! And there was a super sunflower image that would be perfect for my candy stix idea.

These were super easy to make...and they are such good sellers for me at all of my shows. Gonna work on some sports themed ones as well today, but thought I would show you the sunflowers while I had a chance.

If you want some specific size details, email me at: kaitysmom@fuse.net

Altered Clothespins

Hi There!
Quick post tonight before I head to bed!

I have been working on altered clothespins today and just finished up this batch. I have a few more on my camera, but the battery died and needs charged. I'll post more tomorrow!

Love these poinsettias! (sp?) They are made with the SU 5 Petal flower punch. You just score each petal and "fold" them up a little bit to make them stand up a little.

If you have questions on how to make these or the stamps/supplies that I used, drop me a line and I will give some better directions for ya! Just too tired to put it into words tonight! 'Nite!

Volleyball Tags

Hi There!
My daughter made the volleyball team this year at her Middle School - she is in 6th grade and sooooooo excited! The club coaches that a lot of these girls play for decided to send out a small "congrats" to all of the club girls that made their middle school or high school teams!

Since I am the "Director of Creative Crap" (seriously!) for our volleyball club, I was asked to come up with some tags to tie on white carnations. We will be delivering these to the schools on the girls' first home game, and they will be delivered to each girl during class!

I didn't have a white carnation when I was playing around, but you get the idea!

Been working on more composition notebooks for a customer order and will share after I download everything...

Magnetic Message Boards

Hi There!
These is my latest project that I will be making for my craft fairs this year. (Spring, Fall and Holidays) They are Magnetic Message Boards!

Attached to each board will be a decorated matching mini clothespin (magnet) holding 1/2 of a post it note pad, mini gel pen and a handmade (magnet) embellishment. Notice that I am saying "mini" a lot? These memo boards are approximately 5"x7" which will make them perfect for hanging from the kid's door, a closet or by the phone. You could also skip the ribbon and just put more magnets on the back and they would be awesome for inside a locker at school!

The message board part is a 5x7 sheet of galvanized metal step flashing (shingles)! Very inexpensive to work with and I can use my "Chomper" to round the corners! You may have to sand the corners a little bit because they can get really sharp. If you are looking for more directions, go visit Angie Juda HERE - she has a great tutorial on her blog. You can see my embellishments in the right hand corner of each message board.

I have been using the 3M Command hooks with the removable adhesive to hang on walls and doors (see baseball design) and they hold up great! If you go to the 3M site that I linked above, there are coupons for the hooks as well! The magnets are from HERE. I use the 1/4" for the mini clothespin and the 1/2" for the embellishments. They are all SUPER strong and only 1/16" thick! Make sure you have the right adhesive (I use E6000) or the magnet will pull off of the base - they are that strong! Oh! And I attached the mini gel pen to the message board with velcro and a glue gun!

I think that this apple Message Board will be a Teacher Appreciation Day (May 4th) gift for my daughter's teacher this year. The message board with all of the numbers would be great for a math teacher!

These are super easy - once you buy the pillow box! I get mine HERE. I found the stamp last year at Michael's for $1.00 and dug it out this year...been using it for a lot of projects! Too Cute! These little boxes are filled with multi-colored gumballs...

More items for Yard Sale In May

Hi There!
I'm making a few more items for the Yard Sale/Craft Show in May at our local High School...did extremely well there last year, so hoping that this year will be as successful!

These are magnetic clothespins that have been covered with various ribbons! SO EASY! But were really big sellers this past holiday. Since I use a ultra strong magnet - I have one on my frig and it hold about 10 sheets of paper - they aren't really good for small kids.

I still need to finish the packaging on them....think I will put them in a bag with a topper. Will sell them in sets of 4 again. If you are interested, check out my ArtFire studio HERE.

I have a ton more colors...but this is all I had pix of! Will post more if I get them uploaded soon.
I do sell another type of clothespins that are embellished quite a bit more - button, felt flowers, bows etc. I will get a few of those completed soon too. Stay tuned!

Get my magnets online HERE. They are super strong! I had to change my adhesive to that stinky E600 stuff because the magnet kept pulling off!
